Dinner with Friends

Corb has been out of town on a hunting expedition (the first of many to come). But lucky me, I have not had to cook one time since he left.

On Thursday, I went to dinner with my friends Jackie and Jane. Jackie did her internship in my classroom and took over when I went on to work for the district. She had a baby and quit teaching and then she moved to Texas. It was great to see her and I was very grateful that she survived Hurricane Ike! Jane lives down the road from me. She was my sanity for 11 years of teaching. My right hand and my brain too. She is an amazing and highly underpaid teacher. I don't get to see her enough even though she still works at Timberline and lives nearby. So--it was a lovely time just visiting with them both.

Jane, Jackie and I

Mom and Dad were here briefly on Thursday night. I was able to spend a few hours with them. That is always soo great. I miss them a lot and have been a little homesick. So even though it was short, it was a good visit.

On Friday, I went to dinner with Jill and Jaime. We got a baby sitter for the kids and went to Magelby's. The girls and Jacob, did not feel slighted at all. They thought it was a fantastic idea! They have all grown up together because we have been neighbors since they were born. So, to them it was an excellent time! It was for the moms too. We had a great dinner and then went back to Jill's to play cards. As I was thinking about it later, I realized how blessed I am to live near such good people who have become great friends. Jill and Jaime have been so much help over the years in helping me with Tay. They have made being a working mother easier for me. And they have been good friends. And their kids are some of Tay's dearest friends. We are lucky to have them in our lives!

Speaking of living by fantabulous people--and dinner--Tay and I went out to eat with Nickie and Eric and the girls on Saturday. We went to Olive Garden and had a nice time. Our move around the corner has been even better because we live near such great people (a lot of them are our family) who if they weren't already family they are now. After dinner, Nickie and I watched Grey's Anatomy, finally. And, we were not disappointed. It looks like it will be another great season. I love that show! Then Emily called and wanted to go on a frozen yogurt run. She is addicted to that stuff. So she came and got us, we picked up Nickie and then grabbed Teresa. The yogurt was good. Price ...$10. Gas to get there ...free for me Good friends...priceless!

So, even though I have not been able to spend time with my hubby because he was bonding with nature I was entertained well. Thanks everyone for a fun weekend!

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. You are maybe the best person I know, and I know a lot of people. I give you all the credit for everything good that happened at Timberline.

I look back to my job hunting and thank Heavenly Father over and over that we got put together! I couldn't have picked such a perfect first year all by myself.

Let's stay in touch forever. And go to New York.

I will be the first to admit I have a problem. But at least its a yogurt problem and not a drinking or porn problem (at least that you know of)
